So we went to see red yesterday, a large revolving quite middle class crowd with many lovely puddle and pugs, even clad in red was a major distraction. We have seen the most awesome little dogs and puppies joining the red. Summary of many speakers, in short.
1. The government will not resign and people of all color must take side now to protect democracy from PAD and the Constitution Court. Democracy means an elected government will not be removed because of a protest (and a subtext that an elected party will not be disbanded?). They also condemn any proposal that include the PM to resign and the dissolution. By the way, the PM is working hard in the North and Northeast.
2. Mass mobilization to listen to the verdict on the 2nd of December, because of the undue process.
3. Using the “sen[sai]” to support PAD was not OK. The message was received with strong claps of feet clappers.
4. PAD must leave the airports and the parliament. No support for
5. Thaksin is not guilty of all charges, first because his Rachada land case and Ms. P’s cases were personal misconduct rather than political corruption as accused. A speaker said,”In Rachada land case he signed a release, acknowledging his wife’s transaction not as the PM, but as her husband. A couple has to do this before any transaction… “Well that is the red clarification of insider trade. Second, because people who judge him was appointed from CNS and Finally, because he is democratic.
6. Sonthi used his bloody sanitary pads against Kowit Wattana. They were thrown into Kowit’s house.
What they would do next
1. Go to Constitution Court, as Bangkok Post confirmed.
“On Tuesday, so many people will go to the Constitution Court that there will be no place to stand, and the judges will not be able to enter to pass their verdict,” UDD leader Chatuporn Phomphan told the crowd.
2. To do something on the 6th December, mass rally or sort of
Side Package:
1. Music, was not as good as PAD, particularly PAD has professional musicians like Ngah and Job2Do.
2. I have not seen anyone offered anyone’s money in return. We have been offered a meal in plastic bag, which was not bad, some red banner.
Note
1. The crowd as we saw today are, according to external appearance and some chat, mainly Bangkokians middle class. Some even bother to dress as Santa.
2. Thairath said Thaksin is in Cambodia
3. Foreign photographers and journalists did not wear bullet proof vests like at PAD.
We went to respective home, a bit disappointed that the measures to take back the airports and ensure that people who want to return home can do so in timely manner was not discussed. Probably a petition table at Khao Sarn?

PM Somchai working hard? I’m sorry I think your not following the news. On friday I went to play gold and yesterday I was the whole day at a temple. I don’t have time or the nerves to be in Bangkok ;o)
Play golf …sorry… gold I get later, when I stand still and do nothing at all. My instructions ex Dubai
cheeers
Somchai
Thaksin was not very democratic. Just google:
Thaksin + “democracy is not my goal”
and you can read.
Also they never say anything about
Human Right Abuses and all the other charges pending.
Nice to bring puppies etc. so the people are distraced from the facts.
…psssssschhhhhhh ……don’t tell aynone ok?
it was peaceful, unarmed and several people volunteered they were there for elections and democracy
lots of people, 10-20,000 from late afternoon till about 10pm, some started to drift away, left a hardcore of maybe 5,000 they listened and slept while the speeches continued till 6am
we went home by bus to rangsit
and its seems dear old Chamlong is a bit short of guards and hostages/shields…
so he has to try to supplement the numbers
I just met a young guy from Pattaya (at the red rally)… he said yesterday he was offered B5,000 per day by the PAD and they would supply weapons for him to work as a guard. “Most” of his friends signed up.
(have just realised I should have said B10,000 instead of B5,000 and caused mass unrest amongst the guards… if I was leading the PAD its the sort of nasty thing I would have thought…)
He thinks Thaksin was good for the country and has been listening to Truth Today and came from Pattaya to the rally.
this is interesting he said 5,000 baht, others are saying 500 or 1,000 baht… maybe guards are really needed now???
[...] central Bangkok. Red is the chosen color of government supporters. ~Meaw & More~ visited the pro-government rally and observes: 1. Music, was not as good as PAD 2. I have not seen anyone offered anyone’s money [...]
[...] See the BBC (via BangkokDan). TNA have an article with photo. The Post:Thousands of government "red shirt" supporters are planning a prolonged rally to counter the People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) protests, which their leaders term "a coup in disguise".More than 10,000 government supporters wearing red shirts, drawn from Bangkok and surrounding areas, led by the United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), packed the public ground outside City Hall yesterday in a gesture of support for the Somchai Wongsawat government.Government supporters in the provinces have already made it clear they are ready to oppose a coup at all costs. The rally led by Veera Musikhapong and Jatuporn Promphan, co-hosts of the talk show Kwam Jing Wan Nee (Truth Today), is also in opposition to the anticipated verdict of the Constitution Court, which is expected to rule against three government coalition parties – People Power (PPP), Matchimathipataya and Chart Thai – in electoral fraud cases, which would mean their dissolution. The court has ordered the defendants to deliver their closing statements tomorrow without witness testimony, even though the three parties had submitted the lists of more than 200 witnesses. The court ruling is also expected tomorrow. The UDD has deplored the proceedings as "a coup in disguise", and will oppose it.Mr Veera said the court's rush to close the dissolution cases showed that a plot to topple the government was underway. This was consistent with foreign news reports brought to light by news anchorman and talk show host Nattakorn Devakula. The articles claimed preparations were being made to install an administration comprising nine people chosen from the presidents of various courts to govern the country, Mr Veera said.BP: Nattakorn/Pleum was on NBT on Friday talking about Crispin's judicial coup article – Yoon even blogged on Nattakorn's performance on NBT (a cynic would say he is hoping for a tacit PPP endorsement in his for run for the Bangkok governorship, but him and his family have a long history with PAD and they dislike each other). Pleum also mentioned AHRC's statement.Judicial coup talk is more widespread and it is the likely outcome now.Maew attended a rally and you can see her review. [...]
